Capital Arena offers Learn to Skate classes for all ages and levels. Our highly trained staff offers a Basic Skills standardized Learn-to-Skate program, a perfect beginning for future figure skaters, hockey players and recreational skaters.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This learn to skate program gives skaters of all levels and ages the tools they need to learn and refine their skills. Whether you are interested in figure skating, hockey or just looking for a fun challenge, this program is for you! Each skater will be provided with a 30-minute group lesson from one of our instructors as well as a 30 minute practice to work on individual skills.

Basic Skills: This skating program guides new skaters through carefully graduated maneuvers, ensuring rapid progress over short time periods and providing direction and building competency in all important foundation moves. Forward and backward skating, stopping, turning, and edges are taught in exciting, low cost group lessons.

Advanced Skills Program: A full ice, group lesson experience which focuses on development of skating skills, spins, jumps, stroking, etc. The Advanced Skills program is a great bridge to higher level skating.

Please Note:

  • All skaters under 6 and all beginners are strongly advised to wear a helmet (either a hockey or bike helmet).
  • Wear warm clothing such as mittens, water repellant pants, and a jacket.

  • Rental skates are available! ($5 charge)

  • When renting skates, ask for a size 2 sizes smaller than sneaker size. The skates should fit snuggly, not loose.

  • Please arrive 10 minutes early so not to be late for class.

  • Ages 4 – 6 | Lesson 5:45PM-6:15PM, Practice 6:15PM-6:45PM

  • Ages 7 – 8 & 14 – Adult | Lesson 6:15PM-6:45PM, Practice 5:45PM-6:15PM

  • Ages 9 – 13 | Lesson 6:45PM-7:15PM, Practice 6:15PM-6:45PM

March 8, 15, 22; April 12, 19, 26; May 3, 10

Price is $160 for the 8-class session

No classes on February 23, March 29, April 5th

We do not offer designated make-up classes or refunds.
